I am looking for Eli/Ellis Fenna, born c1837. Earliest location is 1861 census, giving Rochdale as place of birth and age as 24, ie probably just before civil registration. There appear to be 3 churches in Rochdale, which one is likely to hold/have held the parish registers?

This link shows the holding of Manchester City Council.  I notice they are not offering their service of sending photocopies by post at the moment "due to staff shortages", but they do list researchers elsewhere on the site!!

I think you would need a fair idea of where you chap was born to find him in there!  Maybe 1851 or 1841 census returns would give a better idea?
