Knight of St Column Major about 1840's
« on: Tuesday 06 February 18 18:39 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for Jane Knight or MacKnight, or McNight.
She was born in St Column in about 1847
She married William John Miller in 1873. One of the witnesses was William John Knight.
Could he be her brother. Just trying to establish the correct Knight or MacKnight family. Would they turn up in the 1851 census. Any help would be appreciated. I do have the details for William John Miller, who was born in Beer, Devon.

is theirs the marriage in march qtr 1873 Lambeth vol 1d pg 508? If so, her father is noted as William John Macknight, hatter.

Do you have them together on the census?

The information was from the 1901 Census, for Mitcham, Surrey.
Head: John Miller born Beer, Devon 1850
Wife : Jane Miller born Cornwall 1847
their 3 children were all born in Wimbledon, Surrey

I am sure I found  William John Miller jr  born Beer, Axminster, Devon in 1850 marrying Jane Knight born Cornwall 1847 married at St Mary, Lambeth, Surrey 02.03.1873. Witnesses William Miller snr and William John Knight. I am 100% sure that William John Miller the Farrier is correct.

My wild card was

William John Miller, Jun.

mentioned in the record of William John Miller, Jun. and Jane Margaret Macknight

 Name     William John Miller, Jun.
 Spouse's Name    Jane Margaret Macknight
 Event Date     02 Mar 1873
Event Place     St Mary, Lambeth, Surrey, England
 Father's Name    William John Miller
Spouse's Father's Name    William John Macknight
 Marital Status     Single
 Spouse's Marital Status     Single

I know the Miller marriage is correct, what I did not know was the maiden name of his wife Jane
