Why do you think he was born in England?

I can't find anything on FreeBMD at all for that name :-\
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

I have seen a letter which states that a person born in Egypt has British nationality descending from a Frederic Rivans, born in Newcastle in 1852.

I can find no person of that name in Ancestry or any other on line source

I can't see anyone either.  Is the person descending from Frederic also a Rivans  :-\

I've got the place of birth wrong, it was Smyrna - now Izmir - in Turkey. Known as Frank Rivans born @ 1919
