Looking for the marriage of Samuel Bygrave Biggleswade area. All i know his daughter was Sophia Bygrave born 1829. Thankyou.

Is she the Sophia Bygrave that married John Skinner at Southill on 8 Jan 1849, father Samuel Bygrave ?

There is a baptism at Southill of Sophia Bygrave in 1828 abode was Broom

Could he be the Samuel Bygrave, bachelor who married Elizabeth Rook at Southill on 11 Oct 1819 ?

SAM Bygrave Bapt 12 Oct 1788, St Andrew, Biggleswade to JAS/SARAH

Jas BYGRAVE married Sarah SQUIRES 15 Nov 1787 same Church

I noticed in 1861 Census Samuel was born c 1787 so this fits.

Also in 1841 Census we have;
Samuel Bygrave   45
Ann Bygrave   50
James Bygrave   19
Sophia Bygrave   12
Sarah Bygrave   9

So maybe more than one Marriage for Samuel?

I've seen the 1841 census which also includes a Charles Rook age 12 & Thomas Rook 10

Seems first wife Elizabeth died/buried 1833 ?  at Southill abode Broom & Samuel Bygrave then marries Ann Rook, her father Joseph Crauley,  at Southill on 12 May 1838,  where Samuel's father is John

So the Baptism/Marriage I found is not the right Samuel!

Sorry tthe one I found appears to have married Sarah Gaunt 1810 and they had Children christened Biggleswade 1811-1828 including a James 1891 that conused me.

I will now hang my head in shame
