Joseph Lamb, glassmaker
« on: Sunday 07 August 05 12:27 BST (UK) »
I've traced a family back to Joseph Lamb, married to Isabella Bell in Newcastle in 1757.  I know that he was a glassmaker.  I find that there was a Joseph Lamb who died in 1806 having founded the Northumberland Glass Company in Newcastle.  He had sons Warren, Humble and Joseph, and left the glass company to Joseph.  They're not the same family as my Joseph, the dates don't fit, but I'm sure there must be a connection.  I wondered whether someone who visits the Newcastle archives could see if the famous Joseph Lamb's ancestry is set down anywhere and try to connect the two families.

Thanks, Emma, that's where I got my information about the glass company, having downloaded the will of Joseph Lamb.  Anything you can come up with would be most welcome.

Have been searching, but haven't uncovered a lot.  It might be worth contacting the tourist information in Newcastle to see if they can throw any light on it for you.

Or if not,
