Catherine Theresa Cullen would've become Catherine Mitchell after she married Michael Thomas Mitchell so is Susan L Mitchell's Mother.

 Susan's father!

Michael Thomas Mitchell. Died Carrick on Shannon 1873. ( Could have been one of the Mitchells of Mount Mitchell in Co. Leitrim, of Fingall, Co. Dublin and of Bordeaux, France)

Mother Kate Cullen died 1913, Dublin

Hello again,
Two things:
Birr was formerly known as Parsonstown so the references will be for the same place.
I think somewhere I have mixed up the generations  ::)
I have these names from a published tree so they would have to be verified.

George Mitchell m Susan Langstaff
Children:
Adam c 1816
Michael Thomas  1823- 1873 m Kate Cullen
Thomas no sources
Jane died 1897
Sarah no sources
Margaret died 1896
James Daniel died 1897

As you can see - not much information and not validated.

There is a mention of the aunts in Susan L Mitchell’ s notes after the death of her father, perhaps they are the daughters noted above.

Newspaper announcement of marriage
May 1843
Susan, second daughter of the late George Mitchell, solicitor of Parsonstown to Captain Wegg.
( no mention of Susan in the published tree).

There is mention of Thomas Mitchell, Secretary to the Grand jury, King’s County in 1840s so perhaps that is a brother to George rather than a son  :-\

It is quite possible that the same first names were used within the branches of the family and the above notes may have no relevance to your quest re the autographs other than Susan Langstaff Mitchell’s father was an Offaly man and only resided in Leitrim.

The will of Susan Wegg 1884
http://www.willcalendars.nationalarchives.ie/search/cwa/details.jsp?id=1639580133

Proven by Margaret Mitchell, spinster of Wellington road  and Thomas Mitchell, solicitor, Parsonstown
Who is Thomas?

Thomas Mitchell, solicitor, Birr in 1901 - not that there is a son Fitzroy D Mitchell 10yrs.

Fitzroy Dunlap Mitchell b 1891 - mother Fanny Mitchell (her maiden name).

This Thomas Mitchell was the son of Adam

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Langstaff_Mitchell

Her father Michael Thomas Mitchell. Died Carrick on Shannon 1873.
Mother Kate Cullen died 1913, Dublin

A published tree shows him as son of Adam Mitchell (1816-1892) and Barbara Foster.

Might be best to look at what is given and assess what you would like after that  :)

This information is wrong - it is Thomas Mitchell (not Michael Thomas) who is the son of Adam.

I am sorry it has become confused so you would be best to jot down info given and cross match with your autographs.

Hello people of County Offaly Ireland.

I research autograph names from a Shakespeare's Birthday Book which has been in my pocession for many years now. Once owned by Surgeon/Dr Thomas Leslie Crooke 1861-1943.

Recently I  stumbled on a site BOARDS IE but the messages were from 2010.
I couldn't gain access to the site as someone named (Sim) Simarillion was looking for these family names also in the Birthday Book among the 800-900 autogtraphs.

Adam Mitchell Crown Solicitor
J (James) Fitzroy Mitchell Engineer (Died young at Buenos Airies).

They once lived in Birr in place named "Walcott" which was then taken over by the Hoctor family.
Susan L Mitchell went to stay them in Birr at a stage in her life.

Most people signed on their birthday but left no year.

These were relatives to a great Irish woman Susan L (Langstaff ) Mitchell Poet/Writer 1866 whose autograph is also in the book.

Others appear :

Barbara Mitchell : Sept 25 and a Margaret Mitchell Sept 26. Mary Mitchell: Feb 3 (no years).
A G Mitchell Feb 22 1858

I am struggling to find these people as very limited to sites I can access.

Thank you from Shane in NZ.

Hi Shane,
Not sure why you have reposted the enquiry but in the above posts I think now we have:

Adam Mitchell -son of George and brother of Michael Thomas

J Fitzroy Mitchell - not found - I think - or rather not looked for  :)

Barbara - wife of Adam

Margaret - connected to Susan, daughter of George so ....

Mary - not looked for

A G Mitchell - son of Adam

I know I keep saying write down and check but it is necessary. Several of these people have been linked to civil records, wills etc which you can check and maybe look for others in the family. Those sites are free.
