Taylor and Picket

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for the parents of James Taylor and Ann Morris who married on the 12th of February 1758 in Hilmarton,Lyneham,Wiltshire ,both from there . The information are from an earlier post

I’m also looking for the parents and siblings of Martha Picket of Wroughton,Wiltshire the wife of Henry ,the son of the people above. They married on the 24th of February 1784 in Lyneham,Wiltshire. I don’t know her age at the time of her marriage but her husband was 21 years old .

Any help and information are much appreciated.

Hi Jane,

Here's a couple of possible entries;

Hilmarton; 25-11-1720  James Taylor, s/o Jacob & Hannah, carpenter, Clivancy [sic], by cert from Wroughton.

Wroughton; 3-1-1763 Martha Picket, d/o George & Mary.

Also if the above is the line to follow;17-5-1757 George Picket to Mary Butler, sp, botp, By Licence

I forgot to add this baptism in Wroughton;
30-12-1733 George Picket s/o William & Mary.

The Licence details don't give much info;
George Pickett, of Wroughton to Mary Butler, of Wroughton
B/man; Butler Wroughton [sic]
dated; 17-5-1757

Hi Alan,

Thank you very much  I think all of them are the  right ones but i’m not sure about James Taylor Hilmarton 25-11-1720 son of Jacob and Hannah . On Familysearch is a James Taylor born 1720 in Hilmarton son of Jacob and Hannah who married in 1754 in Tockenham,Wiltshire with Elizabeth Ferris and their son James was born in 1767 so maybe the information are false or this one is not my ancestor. he married in 1758 Ann Morris in Hilmarton.


Are there also entries for a possible baptism of Ann Morris in Hilmarton and marriage of parents ?

But Martha Picket is the right entry,Thank you
