Joseph Harper, Farmer of Dunton

 Hoping someone can help me with a few more details on Joseph Harper of Dunton please. The information I have is that he was Christened in Royston ,Herts in 1706, son of Thomas Harper and Sarah Payn(e). Joseph married a Hannah Eversden in Potton  Beds.in 1732, she being the daughter of one William Eversden Esq., a person of some standing in the area around Toft, Cambs.
   Although Dunton, Royston, Potton and Toft are not particularly a long way from each other, as you can see, they cover three counties....which makes it difficult to piece the bits together.
    Hannah Harper (Eversden ) is buried at Toft churchyard along with one of her daughters, but the Harper side of the family are not as easy to trace, so any help please would be appreciated.
     The area around Toft contained quite a number of dissenters at this period and its very possible that either or both families fell into this category, in spite of some baptisms and burials taking place in churches.

You seem to have quite a lot of info already.
Joseph was baptised at Royston as you say at the same time as his sister Mary 24.4.1706.
Mary buried 6.5.1706
Brother Thomas baptised  6.9.1708.
Parents you have married at Steeple Morden Cambridgeshire 25.6.1705.

Also there a Rosamund Harper marries  a John Brown 22.9.1712.
It looks like she was the daughter of William and Rosamund bapt 30.1.1689.
They married at Dunton 2.4.1687
William Harper and Rosamund Russell.
Surely there must be some connection.

The only other thing is an apprenticeship for Joseph's son
Joseph Harper s of Joseph Harper of Dunton Bedfordshire 1751 to be a butcher to Caleb Smith 6.6.1751 in London.

It looks like she may have been buried at Dunton 18.1.1724 but there is no age.

Hello there,
   Thanks for the response....The Harper family seem to move slowly East from Hertfordshire into Cambridgeshire and eventually, in the case of my line, North towards Yorkshire in the mid 1850's.
  There are quite a few Harpers in and around Abbotsley , Swavesey area, it's just a case of sorting the wheat from the chaff, but I think these are the right people, thanks again.
