Old Ancestry DNA Results
« on: Tuesday 12 June 18 15:49 BST (UK) »
My father did ancestry DNA testing quite a few years back before they brought out the new ancestry one.

When they ceased it on ancestry you had to download all the data to save it. Is there anywhere I can re-upload those results and how do I extract the information, as it appears to just be an excel sheet.

thanks,

Might be worth a look at Gedmatch.com. They have a section on how to upload results so as good a place as any to start
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

familytreeDNA accept transfers, either for free or for varying costs depending on test taken.

Correction. All tests are chargeable, different costs for different numbers of markers.

Is there a UK version of this? I did a DNA test with Gene Tree in 2004.
They were subsumed into Ancestry in 2010. When I rang Ancestry to ask about this they told me they could not access any Gene Tree results. :-\

Kooky, I don't think so. When Gene Tree were taken over by Ancestry, they took over all their DNA tests, according to this article from 2012. I think your results may be lost forever, unfortunately, unless anybody knows differently.

Thanks, I may just get a new ancestry done in that case.
