I've been searching for many years for more information regarding Robert James and had hit a wall for sometime. 😞
Used this site for the first time yesterday and it's given me excitement and hope again to continue the search .
Thanks amondg and PaulineJ.
It will take me sometime to navigate this site but it will be fun.😀

Using naming patterns. First son his father, first daughter her mother.
The first two children of Robert and Mary James are Thomas 1822 and Elizabeth 1824, then Sarah 1826. caveat I have not found a child prior to 1822.

It would suggest that Robert' father is a Thomas James, her mother an Elizabeth.

Her parents most likely Jonas Stoneham and Elizabeth nee Aust. They had a daughter Mary baptized 14 April 1799.
There are also a Joseph and Ann Stoneham and a Noah and Elizabeth Stoneham baptizing children during the same time period who could be brothers or cousins to Jonas Stoneham.

By the way Daniel Wigmore  who was a witness to the marriage of Robert James to Mary Stoneham, was probably his brother in law. Daniel Wigmore married Ann Stoneham 11 May 1818.
