Which of the 2 1881 entries is she?  The widow in the workhouse or the widow living with her daughter and son in law?

From Gloucestershire burials (Ancestry)

30 November 1882 - Holy Trinity, Stroud

20 October 1883 - Rodborough - Lucy said to be from Stroud.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

?

Am not sure whether the Gloucestershire Records Office allows one free look-up without charge - but they did a few years ago, as I used this service.

If you just Google, Gloucestershire Records Office - you will get the link.

Just out of interest I did Google, British Newspapers on line

and search of Lucy BARTER in case their was an Obituary - but did find this (as Lucy as living in Summer Street 1881 with Frank)  -

Can't read the complete article, because you have to subscribe (can get 3 pages free)

It's headed

MABELeoes and is from the Cheltenham Examiner, 5 July 1882

(it's a bit jumbled) - but seems to be connected ...

Stroud, buy the Rev J BADECOCK, LL.D., Frank, youngest ems of Mr F CARTER, Rodborough, to Fanny, = et daughter of Mrs Lucy BARTER, Summer Street.

Fanny BARTER was married at Stroud St Lawrence
---

Not sure which Lucy this one is..

Also, The Stroud Journal, Saturday June 1, 1869

... that the cow was sold for 21., - a fact he said Mr Hancock ought not to have concealed.  Fraudulent removed goods - Lucy BARTER was charged with fraudently and clandesti....  removing goods from premises at Randwick.
