Interment of John Nicholls
« on: Sunday 02 September 18 13:51 BST (UK) »
Hello all ...just trying to determine reason for Reopening grave per Schedule C of  John Nicholls cant find inquest or anything no obituary no funeral notice but know that his name is on a headstone with his wife in Avoca Victoria Australia..His funeral was 22 April 1906 ..He died intestate would this mean his grave would have to be opened ? .Cause of death was pneumonia..He lived in the area for 30 years..I cant see any reason the will could be contested as he appears to be broke by 1906 . HE was born Bishop Stortford 1834...thanks Craig

If he died Intestate there was no Will.

When was the grave reopened?
How do you know this?  (I don't know what 'Schedule C of John Nicholls' means, sorry.)

Was it to bury his wife there?

Four buried together, NICHOLLS John, Augusta Susan, Harry, Edward Edgar

Probate record shows his wife Augusta ended up with 3 pound.

As stated, intestate=no will.
