This Edward from Hallmark’s link was having children baptised 1866-1877 - mother was Anastasia Kinsella (varied spellings).

Baptisms are not shown after 1880.

I can’t see a John though in civil births.

Sometimes spelling is shown as Nowlan.

Bigdog,

Do you just have the one travel record- him returning from NY or do you have any outgoing ones?

It does say     Llanwonno, M Ash, Glamorganshire, Wales

It clearly says   Birthplace:   Bally Relly Ireland, County Waterford

Not sure why we are looking in Co Wexford!

It doesn’t say Waterford and it could be Bally Relly or Bally Kelly or Ballykelly.

It depends how the ‘k’ is formed/interpreted.

the 1911 census form makes no mention of Waterford - just Ballyrelly/kelly Ireland

FamilySearch transcript is incorrect

p.s. I think place of birth is Ballykelly, the k in Ballykelly looks similar to the k in worker.

Thanks for all of your sterling work.
I based Wexford on the application John Joseph made for american naturalisation. Also Ballykelly (I accept that this is now wrong) turned out to near Suttons Parish ,New Ross,  where PC Michael Rice declared on his police application, that he was born.
The only 1911 Wales Census that I have been able to call up on my computer is the summary version, and that does not mention Waterford.
Because of your help it has started me questioning everything. John Joseph is down on his Death registration as having a DOB  -/3/1887
When working on the railway its       14/6/1885 : 8/3/1888
The 1939 registry it's                      15/3/1888
USA Naturalisation it's                     10/3/1885.
John Joseph also states 31 days in June and September, on the last 2 above!!
I have spent the best part of 2 hours this pm trying to check on a J. Nolan shown on the 1991 Wales Census summary as living in Abercarn. Just to make sure I have not missed anything, and to try not to waste peoples time. I will attempt to post the Naturalisation application after this.
