I am trying to follow the Rumley family in the Dartford area c.1700s and 1800s.

Any interest out there?

Which particular Rumley family?

Surnames interest board (at bottom of page) should be your starting point.

My 2nd great-grandfather was Charles Rumley (b1818-?) who married Elizabeth Nigh (1817-1884) in 1836.  They appeared to live in Dartford their entire lives.

I believe his parents were James Rumley (1779-1850) and Mary Ann Sharp (1787-1848).

One of Charles' sons was Henry Rumley who married Maria Agnes Hughes in 1868.  They emigrated to the USA in about 1872.
