Oldham Shoe Shop

Hi everyone, i've just been reading a war letter from my grandfather to his future wife in 1945. In the letter he mentions introducing his sister Lilly Banister nee jones and her husband jim having a shoe shop in oldham about 4 miles from where he lived on Robson street in the town centre. Does anybody know how i could find the shop or anymore information about this please?

Manchester Evening News 27th June 1945

"Location of Retail Businesses Order 1942"
I James Bannister have applied for a licence under the above order to carry on at 14 Oldham Road. Failsworth"
"Description of goods  Boots and Shoes, Socks,Polish, Laces, Leather soles and heels and Grindery."

The previous owner , a Mr Egerton appears to have retired and sold the business in 1944.

Failsworth is not Oldham,it is North Manchester.
However the number  is odd,usually they start from the city centre but Oldham Road is very long and 14 would indicate very near the centre of Manchester.
Perhaps the numbers started again after a road junction possibly Dean Lane.
Or even further up.
Oldham starts after Hollinwood Avenue.

Not found a Robson St in Manchester but there is one in Oldham near Alexandra Park.

On googlemaps its near to a turn off for Broadway and a morrisons supermarket.

The Robson street my grandad lived on was in the centre of Oldham.
