waterloo bridge accident 1941

Just wondering if anyone can help with an accident that occurred during the construction of waterloo bridge ?
Francis Nicholls ( frank Nicholls) we believe accidentally drowned when he fell into the thames and hit his head ...He may have been a wincer on the bridge ?
His date of death is recorded as 8th October 1941

any help would be much appreciated

So was he Francis Albert Nicholls whose death aged 30 was registered in Westminster, Dec qtr 1941?

Presumably his death certificate is likely to assist as to the circumstances of his death.

Thank you for your advice. i now have a copy of the certificate and find the facts slightly different, it seems the accident occurred at lambeth Bridge, with an inquest on oct 15th..

Be aware that although the body was found at Lambeth Bridge, the river is tidal there and the accident could have happened at Waterloo Bridge.

I don't have access to Newspaper archives, but there is a snippet that might worth looking at for fuller details if nothing else to discount it:

...Inspector W. Bridges, of the Thames i„ ge. w. i lliam Gree. W. C. KING, Peke, skid that tho body was recovered....

You could contact the LMA to ask if they hold the file on the Inquest.
