Sorry Chipy the 1841 only tells you whether they were born in county - that's what the Y is for, Yes born in county (apologies for not explaining that). So you now no Charles was born in Essex - would he be alive for later Censuses which do give place of birth? I can do an 1861 lookup for you if he is. Let me know.
