Hi, I’m looking to be pointed in right direction on family tree line

My paternal grandfather

Joseph Thompson born 1904
Married Eliza Jane Alderson
They are from Willington/Wallsend area
Children:
Joseph
Francis
George
Peter
Cathrine
Margaret
Alfred
Thomas

If anyone can advise info on my grandfather, work etc and possible the correct parents for him?

If not I will order a birth certificate.

There seems to be two possibles
One the son of William Henry Thompson and Elizabeth Irwin who is still alive 1939
and one son of Joseph and Ann Isabella Wright.
2 of the on line trees on ancestry go for the latter and the third for the former.

His marriage is not on line and he doesn't seem to be with Eliza J on the 1939 index.
The two possible birth registrations in Tynemouth are Irwin and Caine.

Looking at the birth of the children on the GRO site - the mother's maiden name is IRWIN.

However, to be really certain you need to get his birth certificate - £6 for a pdf version from the GRO.

So finally got the marriage certificate of Joseph Thompson and Eliza Jane Aldersons

4th October 1930

Joseph's father is down as also Joseph Thompson

At time of marriage Joseph Jnr lived at 39 Berwicke St, Willington Quay

Aged 25 years bachelor

So I'm presuming parents are the Joseph and Isabella mentioned previously x

So I have ruled out William Henry Thompson and Elizabeth Irwin after purchasing the marriage cert.

I can see a marriage of Joseph Thompson and Ann Isabella Wright in March 1905 Tynemouth.

Where do I look to see who the other names possible witnesses?
If not looks like another purchase of certificates!

I need to try and pin down the correct birth record which is around 1907 give or take.
