« on: Thursday 11 August 05 17:19 BST (UK) »
Dear All,

I am seeking advise as to how to go about obtaining details of a marriage, in either brides place of birth Cranbrook or grooms place of birth Headcorn between 1831-1835.Which parishes do these come under ??? For some reason I get rather confused by parishe ,reg districts.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Hi Scatty

Registration districts didn't come into being until 1837 so you needn't worry about them for this query ;)

Cranbrook & Headcorn were both parishes in their own right and quite near each other ................

Look at section 6 of the Kent FHS map:

Best wishes

Forgot to mention that there is a lookup offer for pre 1837 Cranbrook marriages on the Kent lookup exhange:

Good luck :)
