Could someone tell me, are the BNA updated periodically?

Many years ago, my mother showed me a newspaper clipping, mentioning my father divorcing his first wife for desertion.

She no longer has it (binned everything when they divorced).

I am trying to narrow the time frame for that first divorce, but have been unable to locate it.

My father died in June. I've no idea whether first wife would still be alive - the story was that she had deserted him for an American gent, and gone to live in the States.

I certainly get emails from findmypast from time to time informing me of new newspapers added or time frames extended.
