I've recently found a notice of bankruptcy in the Hartford Courant, 24 Sep 1792, page 1.  If anyone has access, I'd appreciate a copy of the notice of Philologus Webster located on that page.

RJ,  Thank you so much for your quick reply.  This must be the reason he and his family left CT, after about 150 years, and moved west, to Cazenovia, NY, then on to Franklin County, OH. OR, maybe it  was his way of clearing up all loose ends before he moved.  Your dedication to this website is amazing. ----Liz
