Hello. Would anyone have knowledge of what uniform this is. Its WW1 and thats the extent of my knowledge. Marriage cert states only he is in the armed services.  No reg no..

I think it's Army Service Corps ( like this chap https://www.flickr.com/photos/14684508@N02/12411800855) but perhaps you could do a high res scan of the cap badge area?

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

Looking at the filename of the photo, I would guess his name to be Charlie Jones. Did he have a middle name?  Can you tell us his birth year and birthplace?

Thank you for the replies.
He is Charles Thomas Jones. Born 13-5-1886. Stroud/Rodborough area.
The photo wont scan any better unfortunately .
I have tried to search on ancestry.co.uk for his service record or anything linked but nothing concrete appears and his marriage cert holds no more clues
