RAF Service Records
« on: Tuesday 06 November 18 03:42 GMT (UK) »
Not really a NEW topic, many people have been down this road before me.

My wife wishes to apply for her father's service records but doesn't have his service number. I believe it's possible to obtain the number from GOV UK but I'm not having any success at all. I wonder if anyone is able to tell me how I might be able to find the number?

We're looking for James MUDD, b 2 November 1908, he was in the RAF from before WW2 until sometime after and rose to the rank of warrant officer.

There are few times when being in Australia is inconvenient but undertaking family research from afar can sometimes be a real pain.

You don't need the service number to apply for his service records. DOB will suffice.  :)

Information on how to apply:

You may find something here though I don't know if dates fit in with your father in law's service:
