looking for records
« on: Tuesday 06 November 18 12:11 GMT (UK) »
Hello I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for me on finding records for a person.   I am already on Ancestry and cant find any information on a person.  The person is on my great Uncle's record as his daughter. However there is no record of her birth or anything else after that except for the following document.
My Great Uncle is Arthur Ernest Knapp.  His wife Elizabeth A Morgan. On Arthurs WW1 sevice record enrolment form the following is listed: -
Household Members
Name Age Name Arthur Ernest Knapp Age 26
Name Elizabeth Ann Morgan (wife)
Name
Muriel Louisa Knapp Age 9
Document dated 27th March 1917
Wonder if anybody can help.
Many thanks
Hazel

Maybe she was Elizabeth's child before they married & took Arthur's name?

I presume  this is the marriage
Marriages Sep 1913
Knapp    Arthur E    Morgan    Bromley    2a   1267

Arthur and Elizabeth marry in 1913 in Bromley

Muriel would have been born in 1908, I can't see a Muriel Morgan but thats worth looking into

The only Muriel Morgan I can find is this one in Q4 1908 in Castle Ward in Northumberland, no mother's name given on GRO.

Morgan    Muriel Carr         Castle W.    10b    352

Thanks for the suggestions.  Yes I did think she was a child from another father. I have tried various searches.  Elizabeth is a servant in another household in the 1911 census and no sign of Muriel in any other address in the 1911 census

Do the Army records state that she is 9 in 1917.

I can see a copy of his records that contain information relating to 'Campaigns' dated 1919.
On the same page also in very pale writing it gives Muriels date of birth as what looks to me as possibly    22-11-1918

I was just about to post the same snip, Rosie. But I thought it said date of birth 1908? It also states (faintly) place of birth Foots Cray.

I tried the image as a negative, and the third digit looks like a 0 to me  :-\
