Discounting for ancestry subs
« on: Wednesday 07 November 18 06:07 GMT (UK) »
Being a dippy blonde.....I've just been sorting out removing stored data from my iPad and realised I'd deleated the link someone very kindly put on about discounting subs for Ancestry.... it gave a very favourable rate and I was keeping it safe to use when my renewal comes up....soon!
I wonder if anyone know either who put the link up or where to find it again...

Thanks so much in advance

Did you notice where it says

"*Offer available for new subscribers only and not for renewal of current subscriptions. After the initial 12 months, your membership will automatically renew at our standard prices for your chosen membership."

You'll have to create yourself a new persona.

I rang them on my last day and asked them if they could see any reason why I shouldn't let my current sub lapse and just sign up again at half the price.

They saw sense and renewed my current sub at the offer price.

Probably won't get away with it again next year.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

Census information is Crown Copyright. See www.nationalarchives.gov.uk for details.

It does not need a new 'persona'

I cancelled my sub last year and I then used this offer which automatically linked to my old Ancestry account.

Thank you all for your responses... last year I phoned them to tell them I couldn't possibly afford their high price for a worldwide sub, as I was a pensioner on a fixed income, they automatically reduced it by £50!

This offer is much better so will cancel my sub a week or two before hand then apply for this reduced one!

I know they provide many records and they all have to be paid for but as people have said in another thread they've actually not produced anything significant since September!

No you don't. All you need to do is let your subs run out, wait a few hours and then you can renew and they consider you as a new user. I'm surprised they haven't closed this loop hole, but it does work. Don't phone them, do it on line.
