My suspicion is that whatever Truggan was, it no longer exists.

Lots of new (-ish) buildings in Port Erin ;D

Just remembered that I have a copy of "The Place-Names of the Isle of Man" (J.J. Kneen; 1970 reprint of 1925 original).

Unfortunately, no mention of Truggan in the section on Kirk Christ, Rushen :(

However there is mention of "Struggan Snail", meaning swift stream or water.
Quoting: "This stream had its source on the Mull and, flowing through a rocky bed, descends swiftly into Port Erin, where it discharges itself into the sea."

The Mull means the hill.
Struggan Snail I have also seen spelled Struggan Sneayle ;D

On Google maps, there is a stream flowing south of the Railway station and track, and north of Athol Park.
Indeed, Station Road and Promenade sit high above Shore Road, Strand Road and Athol Park.

Thank you. I will try to find more information but as you said, it might not exist today.

Have sent you a PM (Personal Message) re photos.

Unfortunately they cannot be attached to this thread; as it's a Lookup Requests thread! ::)

Meanwhile: Truggan Road (Port St Mary) runs into St. Marys Road (Port Erin).
I need to check at the Museum, but my belief is that St Mary's Road was formerly Truggan Road?

This road is one of 2 roads linking Port Erin to Port St Mary. And walking distance to both harbours.
I've walked that road without knowing what it was called ;D
