Long shot with a poor photograph.

Hi, could anyone hazard a guess as to the Regiment?
The man is believed to be George Robert Elliott (possibly later dropped the George) he was born in Brigg Lincolnshire in early November 1905 and was baptised at Brigg on the 14th of that month, parents were Joseph and Eliza.

Family belief is that he was in the cavalry and died possibly in India in the 1920's, does anyone think he's cavalry, sorry the photograph is poor but that's all I have.

Dificult one Frank,the badge to my eyes doesn't resemble any Cavalry regiment's other than Royal
Irish Dragoon's but not convinced of that,I'm thinking ASC but  the Jodphur's again casting doubt.
Too young for war service so CWGC record's won't help.
