Can anyone read this please?
« on: Sunday 11 November 18 22:38 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I have a prison record for an ancestor, I can read it all with three exceptions;

1. Date Received & by Whom Committed: 12th July 1877, Eastleigh ????

2. Marks on Person: 'Scar right wrist, scar bridge of nose, 3 small marks on right of ????? ?'

3. His home address, it looks like: '1 Court 3 ????? Oldham'

Can anybody read this please?

Many thanks, Luke

The date is 12 and "by whom committed" which you suggest is "Eastleigh" is presumably someone's name?  Whatever the document is, can you see the records of any others? Are they "committed" by the same person?

1 Court 3 Jackson St

I guess it could be a roughly written Oldham, but I'm not wholly convinced. Is that a likely location for this person?

Is the writing any clearer on any of those entries?

There was definitely a Jackson Street in Oldham.

So it is.  :)

I think the place must be "Oldham" as luke seems to be researching other family from that area.  :)
