Brown Family, Braintree

I am trying to trace the Brown family of Braintree. Victor F. Brown and Nancy J. Brown. I can last see them on the 2002 Electoral Roll. They were born circa. 1920's. I would like information on them or their descendants. Many thanks.

Haven't you checked freebmd to establish their exact birth years?

If they were only born 1920's they would have married 1940's which means any children born to them could still be alive.  As you know - Rootschat has a no living persons policy

Have you checked for their marriage then used Nancy's maiden name to check for births - marriage is on freebmd and so is Nancy's birth reg

Have you looked for any deaths for them?

Victor Frank Brown b 7.4.1920 died 1999 Chelmsford.  No death for Nancy up to 2007.

Thank you for that. That Victor appears to be the one.

They married in March 1948. Nancy J. Lowe and Victor F. Brown. Nancy was born in Sept. qtr. 1928.

Do you happen to know any way of searching upto 2018, please?

Searching what up to 2018?  Deaths are online up to 2007 and marriages to 2005. 

Have you looked for any births of children then followed that through to establish marriages etc?  I can see 3 births on freebmd between 1949 and 1957

You can search for a probate/Letters of administration entry up to 2018 but that assumes there was a will or an estate

Hi,

Nancy J.is my Mum's cousin. I am hoping to get some family photographs/information, as we have nothing, as my Grandmother 'moved North', after the war, and lost all contact.

The link for the probate place appears to have been 'down' for a few days. If she is still with us, she will be nearly 90. Last seen on electoral roll 2002. I contacted 50 odd Browns from Braintree via Facebook, yesterday, without success.

Have ancestry sites stopped updating Death indexes?

Deaths online only to 2007 as shown above

You can also try Ancestry deaths 2007 - 2017 which is an incomplete index and (I think) dependant on submitted info
