1809 - 1833 death / coroner lookup pls - THOMSON (& variants)
« on: Monday 19 November 18 04:22 GMT (UK) »
Hi,can't find death of Kezia Thomson (both names may vary w. spellings) married to Joseph Thomson 1807 at Warbleton, child David 1809, maiden name Ellis b. 1789 at Wartling. Joseph's 2nd marriage to Sarah Hook was Jan 1834 so I'm assuming her death occurred between David's birth in October 1809 and before 1834. Thanks.
Cheers,
Col  :)

Still looking but not yet close. Am thinking that since she had only the one child David in 1809 that maybe it is likely she died pretty close to that year. Would appreciate any help on this please.

Cheers,
Col  :)

Not on The Weald site.
Are you able to follow David?  Is he with father later?

Hi Machar489 and thanks for your reply. Have also checked the Weald to no avail. Don't pick David up again till his marriage in 1840 at Heathfield to Henrietta Russelland then the 1841 census and various subsequent records. His mother Kezia is a mystery.

Cheers,
Col  :)

Oops. Sorry Mckha483. Can't find his father except with his 2nd marriage.

Cheers,

I notice on that Weald site (which isn’t fool proof as I have identified errors in my own family on that site)  they have Joseph as THOMSETT (a common name in the area) in 1851

Still can’t see Kezia though

Yes, spellings generally at the time and in the area weren't reliable on documents. I don't think it's all down to transcribers on the Weald site and they probably notch up the usual number of human errors.

I've tried various sites to locate Kezia and it's getting harder to come up with a different approach, which is what is needed. Someone out there on the forum will no doubt offer a solution. Fingers crossed.

Cheers,
Col  :)

I should have mentioned that Kezia would have belonged to the Independent Chapel at Heathfield.
