GRO pdf index problem

I was hoping to order a pdf of a birth reg from the GRO site (William Sayers Mar 1845 Chelmsford XII 34 (or 54?) but seem quite unable to locate the record in the GRO index. However, I found it on the freebmd website. It is a handwritten register entry and the page number is not unequivocal, but trying both freebmd suggestions, which look sensible, draws a blank. Any suggestions, other than trying non-pdf format?

Are you going via the index search? If you can work out if it is 34 or 54 you could go the original route of ordering on the GRO website via the form*, where you fill out the details and they go and find it. I don't think you even need the page number for that, although it is helpful if you do. I'm pretty sure you can choose pdf format as an option to receive.

I read it as page 34.

It seems to have been missed on the index, the entry above for Thomas Sayers is indexed.

On the bottom of the search page there is the option to report a problem, click that and in the new window click on missing entry, in the next window you can report it. GRO will check and add it to the index.
