Thank you for your responses, This image then cannot be who I thought it was as all 3 boys were born in the 1880's so would have been in their mid to late 30's in 1920

They look like they are aged between 15 and 20ish and it looks like they have been to a wedding 🎩
Which may help to narrow it down.

Re the tie pins and date - this is a zoom snip of a photo of my father circa 1920 (b. 1905). I think he was wearing a tie pin in the same way. (Not as the vertical one though)
