Marriage witness name

Hello can any one make out the name of a witness to my 4 x Gt Grandparents please. It is written below William Smith, in the presence of ? I think perhaps the surname might be “adams” as that is the Brides surname, who makes a mark rather than a signature.

I also think the last name is Adams. Not sure about the first name, although it does look like the last letter is ‘ y ‘

Thank you. The Bride did have a sister named Mary (and Betty), so I think that is most likely her.
