AGH ...

2005 ... that's about when some additional funds were made available and the NSW BDM was able to update some of their holdings so perhaps the death was not 2005, but 2005 is the year it was uploaded.

I have phoned my rellie,  although they will be here for a week or so from Monday...  :)

JM, that is his birth, but he died in 1947. I can't see his death on NSWBDM.

Parmenas on 1841 census: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M73R-6LR

I’m sure this is them on the 1861, with incorrect husband name: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7HZ-WLY

If it is them it puts arrival in Australia between 1861 and 1869.

There is only one christening of a Jane Margaret Fisher with the correct folks and a birth early enough to suit the marriage: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NYRP-LLN

Looks like Susan married twice in NSW and died here:

3168/1879 DAY Caleb to PHILPOTT Susan Elizabeth GOULBURN

2836/1884 COLEMAN George G to Day Susan E NEWTOWN

20702/1945 COLEMAN Susan Elizabeth 89 YRS JANE MARGARET ROCKDALE

Death and funeral notices, 1st and 3rd columns: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article27923650

Buried with husband George. Woronora Cemetery Methodist Monumental - Section U 0066
Susan E Coleman 31-7-1945 and George E Coleman 11-5-1929.

Wonder if this is Maria, with incorrect father listed?: 3898/1882 PHILPOTT Maria A father CORNELIUS UNKNOWN NEWTOWN

1891 NSW census: J.M.Philpott 4 males and 4 females: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G96L-YH2Y?i=64&cc=2317858

2006 was celebrations galore for NSWBDM ... it was 150 years since commencement of civil registration... so in 2005 they had additional funding provided, it helped uploading various recently discovered registers and similar records that the Principal Registrar was able to cconfirm were bdm events in NSW.

 :)

Margill, definitely wait before you spend pennies on any BDM certs or official transcriptions...  :)

I’ve just seen a part of an online tree, that’s not good at all.

One of the things they have is Samuel Woodford, husband of Julia Philpott, as being baptised in England on 3 November 1850, which gives his folks as Samuel and Mary. I can only think that they chose this to correspond with the following NSW death:

6038/1888 WOODFORD Samuel parents SAMUEL and MARY A ST LEONARDS

I see a couple of issues with this. The first being that if Julia’s Samuel died 1888, then who fathered Alfred born 1890. Secondly, the funeral notice for the 1888 death says ‘ will leave the residence of son-in-law J Thompson. So, is there another daughter missing from the list.

Now Samuel isn’t mentioned in Julia’s notices, so he’s either deceased or has left her. If deceased the only other I see on NSWBDM is: 3195/1898 WOODFORD Samuel parents ALEXANDER and HANNAH RYDE. This notice gives nothing useful, 1st column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article14149795

No clues here either. In Memoriam, 1st column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article236783454

Right, I have sorted a bit of it:

6038/1888 WOODFORD Samuel parents SAMUEL and MARY A ST LEONARDS

I see a couple of issues with this. The first being that if Julia’s Samuel died 1888, then who fathered Alfred born 1890. Secondly, the funeral notice for the 1888 death says ‘ will leave the residence of son-in-law J Thompson. So, is there another daughter missing from the list

On 11-11-1862 a family of Woodford arrived QLD on the UTOPIA: Samuel 43, Mary 33, Phoebe 13, Samuel 12, Fanny 8

Marriage: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QL1L-P5K1

WOODFORD, PHEBE mmn SHORT
GRO Reference: 1848  J Quarter in BOURN  Volume 14  Page 301

WOODFORD, SAMUEL mmn SHORT
GRO Reference: 1850  M Quarter in BOURN  Volume 14  Page 302

WOODFORD, FANNY  ELIZA mmn SHORT
GRO Reference: 1854  M Quarter in BOURN  Volume 07A  Page 280

Mother’s QLD death: 1865 C695 Mary Ann Woodford father Isaac Short
2nd marriage for father: 1869 C463 Samuel Woodford to Jane Segrove

Phoebe Woodford married John THOMPSON in 1869:
1082/1869 THOMPSON John to WOODFORD Phoebe SYDNEY
Notice: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article13194771

So, 1888 Samuel is the father who arrived on the UTOPIA.

On the UK 1851 and 1861 censuses: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGNS-FMD and https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7B4-FTR

This looks to be the father’s christening. Note the folks: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JQ5V-338

Now that brings us back to the son, who I believe may be Julia’s hubby, as mentioned in the online tree:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NB55-R4Y

If these are them, then where is Samuel Jnr’s death?
