It is interesting that Leonard Woodford was sent to the Sobraon as Florence's husband James Ryan was sent to the Sobraon in 1900 age 13 for wandering the streets so may have known each other.

Thanks for the information about Julia Woodford's mother Jane M Philpott.

I have searched for a marriage for Samuel Woodford and Julia Philpott and the only one I can come up with is in Qld 1869C434.  I should be able to get it today and may throw some more light on the Woodford and Philpott origins.

Don't rush off to spend on certificates just yet.   Continue to search through Trove newspapers for Leonard and his brother and also for Samuel and Julia.   Keep good notes of each set of relatives and then think about which cert to consider will have the most info clearing up any confusions.

I think you may be correct with the QLD marriage. One child born to the in QLD and then 8 in NSW.

In her funeral notices one has her of mother of Mr and Mrs P Turner. I can’t think who a daughter is who married P Turner.
