Thomas BULMER - Hatfield, W. Yorkshire

I am looking for information on Thomas Bulmer.  According to his gravestone he was born on 10 Sep 1793 but I have not been able to find a record of his birth/baptism (I don't know where in England he was born or who his parents are).  Thomas just appeared in Hatfield sometime before his marriage.  He married Mary Bowling in 1816.  They had 6 children (Thomas, William, Henry, Ann, John and Elizabeth) born in Hatfield before they immigrated to Canada (where they had 2 more children: Mary and John).  Thomas Bulmer died in 1881 in Montreal, Quebec.

Any information on Thomas Bulmer (most interested in prior to his marriage) is greatly appreciated.

Yes this is the right Mary Bowling. 

"What birthplace does he give on census?"  The Canadian Census in 1881 just gives his birthplace as England.  As the family moved to Montreal, QC about 1832, he wouldn't appear on any of the UK Census.

Unfortunately, I haven't yet been able to find him on the 1841, 1851, 1861 or 1871 Canada Census.  Having said that, some of the Census years didn't survive for Montreal.

I will have to check that out for Thomas.  I did find some other family members using their middle name.  Something to look at this weekend.
