Hi CBS,
The person I was investigating was my grandfather Joseph Stansfield b1875. His son also named Joseph b1901 therefore is my uncle. Best wishes, Yvonne

The family goes back to Wyon Marions who married a local girl from Stansfield Moor (Todmorden) and adopted the name instead of his French name (you probably know that?) in the family there were three chimney sweeps and three horse collar makers I was taught by my dad (he died in 1956 aged 54
He had four children - I was the youngest born 1944 the others have died Best Wishes Colin
