1939 Register
« on: Tuesday 11 December 18 21:07 GMT (UK) »
Looking for Jack Lennards on the 1939 register.........brings up an entry for Jack Levine - crossed out and "Lennard" inserted. It gives a date of birth........and the following notation: "m.d. 230 AYA 28.5.51" any ideas?

According to the entry, it's possible Jack Levine was married to (Joan Avril) Hoffman........ There isn't a birth entry for Jack Levine for December quarter 1905 - per the birth date given and I can't find a marriage between Levine / Hoffman.........which the entry also suggests.

AYA is code for Westminster.  So address change in 1951?

I am not sure why you think he may have married Joan Hoffman.  Her surname has not been changed on the register.

I wonder where “page 17 “ is

I can see two 1939 entries for the same person.
One as you say with another person and one where other entries are closed.

Are you trying to clarify something?

There are two marriages for a Jack Lennard in the London area post war. 1944 and 1950

Modified to add that neither of those marriages match the wife on the 1952 passenger list in reply 6

In 1953 Jack Lennard 47, Cabinet maker is on a passenger list to New York

Thanks for all your replies. Yes, I'm trying to find the origins of Jack Lennards - who married Winifred Dray in 1933 Croydon. The certificate says aged 28.
When I saw the 1939 register with Lennards/Levine I wondered if there had been a change of name - but it is obviously not the same person............which still leaves me searching........
