WW2 period marriage, Dobell and Drake ?
« on: Saturday 22 December 18 04:00 GMT (UK) »
Hi, was there a marriage in Canada about the time of the second world war for a Dobell and possibly to a Drake ?, and from this was there any children at this time.
I need another pair of eyes, a Canadian set with local knowledge i think to find this.
The male ( might be the Drake ) could have been in the armed forces but its not known what branch.
Any help very much appreciated.
Dave.

There is no central registry of BMDs in Canada.  Each province is responsible for their own records.  Since Canada has strict privacy laws marriages and births in the time period you are interested in are not public.  Your search is further complicated because you don't know where in Canada you are searching.  There is a marriage between a female Dobell and a male Drake in 1953 in Huntingdonshire England which you can find on FreeBMD.
