Maggie McCahon of Kilrea
« on: Sunday 23 December 18 04:01 GMT (UK) »
I'm researching a Maggie McCahon of Kilrea. She never married and died in the 1960's. She attended Oxford. I'm trying to understand her relationship to a McGilligan family from Swateragh.

Do you have an idea of her birthdate or even year?

Assuming her name was short for Margaret? Did she have any other first names?

Yes, her name was probably Margaret. I don't have a year for birth. I'm checking with family on exactly where she lived.

Roger McGilligan (About 1835-1916) and Jane McCahon (About 1842-1919) from Tirhugh, Swatragh, County Londonderry are my Great-great-grandparents. We're unclear if Jane's maiden name was McCahon or McCaughey.

McCahon and McCaughey can be used interchangeably but the connection to Maggie McCahon may not be through your Jane.
