1861 Census Stoke Damerel
« on: Sunday 23 December 18 14:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi there
Can anyone please tell me if the 1861 Census is available anywhere for Stoke Damerel? I can't find any of my lot on the 1861, but they are all there on the 1851 and 1871. Thanks.

I'm looking for the Jewell family. On the 1851 Census I have Thomas Jewell, age 40, his wife Ann, age 45, and children Richard, age 17, Thomas, age 15, and William, age 13, living at 20 William Street. On the 1871 Census Thomas senior and wife Ann are living at 21 Moon Street, and Thomas junior, wife Elizabeth and daughter Elizabeth are living at 54 Frances Street. I'm struggling to find Richard, William and another son John, born 1832. There are so many records for these names!

Found! Thank you everyone, nice to fill in another gap in my information about Thomas and his family. Now I just need to find out what happened to the rest of them, apart from Thomas junior, who has been easy to trace. I wish I could say the same about his daughter! (Elizabeth, the subject of several posts on here, and still missing!)

If Thomas JEWELL Jr married Elizabeth MALE, they had daughter Elizabeth in 1867 and son Stephen Richard in 1871. Both children are shown in 1881 living in the workhouse. RG11/2212
