Hi There,

I cannot seem to post replies to messages that are sent mefor what reason I do not know.  I am sorry but Wisbeach is too far from my locale right now to do the lookup you hoped for and I cannot now find the post re Isle of Axhome.  If you can give me the details of that again I will head of to the records office the same day or the very next day and chase it up for you

Rob,
As far as I know my grandfather was born on Aug. 8, 1864 in Lincolnshire, England.
I know I have posted other, slightly different dates on this board before.  However, last night, I looked at his marriage license.  When he married my grandmother in 1908, the doccument listed him as being 44.  Simple math would then dictate he was born in 1864

My Greatgrandmother was born in Wisbech.
It seems that Wisbech/Wisbeach/Upwell/Outwell are on a area of land that was sometimes in Cambridgeshire and sometimes in Norfolk.

On her Birth cert. it says "Island of Ely, County of Norfolk", on 1901 and 1891 it says "born in Cambridgeshire" !

You pays your money and takes your choice !

Or you go to GENUKI and look it up there, maybe they give exact dates when the county boundaries changed.

I tend to always look up Norfolk and Cambridgeshire  sites now, when I am trying to find out more about her family.
