Many years ago when I first started on the family tree, I was given copies of some old letters. They date back to the early part of the 19th Century mainly. There are various names - Varley, Maxfield, Heartley, Shutt. Some are to a couple in my home town of Bolton, they seem to be related to these other families. I spent some time studying them but there was only the IGI and 1881 Census available online or CD then!
I have put them online on my
website. They are easier to see on
FLICKR, there is a link on the website and also a link to some notes I have made about them.
Thought I would post here in case anyone recognises any names. There is one letter about a
Richard Varley of Gisburn who had died in the USA and an executor was trying to find heirs.
