That her name and dob can be read, she is not redacted, therefore I assume she is deceased. (as well as being born in 1913)
I don't see a death for anyone with that birth date though  15 June 1913

So, can you only see deceased folk on the 1939?

Is there somewhere you see deaths past the years available on FreeBMD?

I was thinking she may have remarried, having possibly divorced.

Reply #2 mentions possibility of divorce

Added- sorry, I realise now that’s what you were referring to.  :-\

Ron Hughes's mother was a DeHavilland

Are you referring to the American DeHavilland’s?

I have found the name in UK now. Need a space De Havilland.

Yes, people under 100 yrs old are supposed to be blacked out, unless they are known to be deceased. Eg my father who was born 1930 is still blacked out because he died herein NZ so there was no death for the NHS to match to the birth.

On the other hand there are some errors, my uncle is very much alive and kicking but his name is as clear as day.

Ancestry seems to have deaths well into the 1990s.  After a certain date, I forget what, the date of birth is listed so if you put Dorothy and the date of birth in the search in theory you should get All Dorothy’s  with that birth date no matter the surname. But I’m getting nothing.  So maybe she died before that date what ever it is.
