Stockport , Duke Street 1841 and 1851 census
« on: Wednesday 02 January 19 22:12 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone point me to a resource that will guide me to Duke Street, Stockport in 1841 and 1851 census returns please.
And to a resource to look at Baptisms circa 1846-1851 for St Peter and also St Thomas. ( St Mary already viewed)

Ancestry has him as Holmer but none of the entries on that page or on the previous and succeeding page have house numbers.  I can't make out his occupation

No obvious 1841 entry for the pair of them.  Did they have any children who would have been young enough to be at home in 1841?

I was  looking for Duke Street, to enable me to check both census returns for a couple of surnames referred to on a birth certificate at a specific  address in 1846. The names I referred To on my reply were purely a reference to finding the first entry of Duke Street on the two census entries.
Unfortunately neither of the names I was looking for appear in Duke St in either census.
Without your suggestions it would have taken a long time to find Duke St. Hopefully this may help another research who might need the same information.

FindMyPast state they have baptism entries for Stockport, St Thomas - 1819 - 1869.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
