Wallace or Wallis Kirkhaugh.
« on: Saturday 05 January 19 22:30 GMT (UK) »
Happy new year folk's,one family member I've never really persued is my Gtx4 Grandfather Henry
wallace who in 1851 was a farmer in Romaldkirk born c 1785 in Kirkhaugh Northumberland from the
limited access I have to various site's It appear's he was the son of George and Mary (nee Nichol).
Just wondered if those that like to do a bit of digging could "flesh" out either family there seems to be
a few Wallace/wallis families in the area but no Nichol's.
Regard's Steve.

From what I can find Henry Wallis was baptised 30 October 1785 in Kirkhaugh to George and Margaret Wallis.

George Wallis married Margaret Nichol 7 July 1770 in Kirkhaugh.

According to the Genuki site the earliest available date for church records for Kirkhaugh is 1760 so if Margaret Nichol or George Wallis were baptised there, it looks like no record exists.
