Thomas Painter (Paynter) born 1731 Okehampton, England
« on: Wednesday 09 January 19 00:17 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information on Thomas Painter (later spelled Paynter) born in 1731 and died in 1784 in Okehampton, Devonshire, England.   I believe his wife was Mary Davey.   They had five children:  William, Elizabeth, Henry, James and Ann.   I am stuck trying to find his parents.   Has anyone researched Thomas?

Hi if you look closely he is shown as "Base born" so the illegitimate son of Mary.

Thank you for that.   I wondered what "Base" meant.   I had a feeling it meant illegitimate.   So I need to look for his mother's father.

Thanks
