Burial Little Clacton, Tendring, Essex
« on: Wednesday 09 January 19 04:48 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help with this before I send for the certificate?

Looking for the burial of a Samuel Boast somewhere in this area, he last lived in Little Clacton in 1891 and there is a likely death registered at Tendring in 1893 aged 88, perhaps there is some other Boast  buried with him that will give me a clue if I've got the correct person. He was connected to the name Buckle through his daughter Esther also. Thank you

St James Church Little Clacton

Burials Samuel Boast 28 January 1893 age 88

ADDED
1891 he is living with his daughter and son in law in Little Clacton and a widower having lived the majority of his life in Suffolk. His wife is likely buried there.

Oh thanks for that.

There is an index entry for Elizabeth Boast in 1884 at Blything, I think this could be his wife although I can't find them on the 1881 census to confirm. I'm searching all the other children to see if they were lodging with another one of them before.

1871 has Samuel and Elizabeth living in rendham Suffolk. He was born there c1810. She was born hutcheston (or something similar) c1813.
Marriage between Samuel boast and Elizabeth Gissing hacheston 14/9/1834.
He is a widow on 1881 still on rendham.

Yep that's them thanks.
That wasn't her burial above but I found it on the NBI in 1873

They had a son called Gissing (he was a twin) I can't find hide nor hair of him after 1861 if anyone can find a burial I would dance a jig.

Try posting on the Suffolk board as well. If the mother died in Suffolk, maybe he did? Where do you have him in 1861?

He's with his parents at Rendham Green aged 17 His name is mistranscribed as Gisson.
I have searched every census after that (because they are only a few pages) but not spotted him.

I will try Suffolk boards yes, daft to post it here really, just thinking out loud.
