Harold Horace Stewart
« on: Wednesday 16 January 19 14:42 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I am searching for information regarding the above. He was married in England in 1915, but I am fairly sure he was born in Scotland. According to his marriage certificate he would have been born in around 1896. He was the son of James Stewart, a schoolmaster. I am particularly interested in finding his place of birth, christening date etc..
Thanks in advance.

Apparently so. The marriage did not last long and the family story was that he was knocked off his bicycle and killed, but I've no idea when.

Have you tried looking for him on the 1911 census?

There were two daughters born 1917 & 1919 who both married in Whitchurch reg district

An online tree suggests his wife remarried a Charles H Austin before 1923  :-\

Yes, that’s absolutely correct. Charles Austin was my great, great uncle. It turned out that Charles was never actually married, so I suspect that his wife never actually divorced Harold.
