Mary Elizabeth Rogers b 1842 Midsomer Norton

I am currently researching the movements around England of one branch of my Rogers family, those relating to Thomas and Eliza. I have hit a small brick wall with their daughter Mary Elizabeth.
Mary was born 1842 in Midsomer Norton and was still at home in 1851.
She appears in 1861 to be a servant with the family of Isaac Hinton (Kinton) a journeyman baker at Great Chapel St, Westminster St Margaret, although the age does not quite fit. Isaac Hinton is noted as being from Midsomer Norton.

In May 1875 Mary married Isaac Groom at St Silas Hunslet and in 1881 was living at Headwall Green,Golcar.

What is missing is the period between London and Hunslet. I cannot find a trace in the 1871 Census.

Why did she move northward and where was she in that period?
Any thoughts or help greatly appreciated.

The nearest I have got in 1871 is Mary Rodgers, the right sort of age withing a couple of years, in Domestic service at the residence of Henry F Askham Woking Prison Surgeon. Her place of birth shows as Somerset  Town  UK (RG10 807 Folio 101).

As regards the move north, all I can add is that servants did move considerable distances at this time, presumably either by recommendation or in response to advertisments. My ancestor, Lydia Horler Gait (nee Emery, 1802-1876), also born in Midsomer Norton (and whose mother was a Rogers) was a servant in London in 1841, a housekeeper in Scotland in 1851, in Lancashire in 1861 and ended up in Crickhowell in Wales in 1871, always as a housekeeper. She finally married a local fishmonger in Crickhowell and is buried there,

Steve,Do you mind if I ask which Rogers family she was part of? My Rogers came originally from Nicholas Rogers C 1650 in Clutton and then eventually to Midsomer Norton.
